Just pausing here during the work day and getting centered. So, hey, what better way to get centered than to reflect and write a poem.
The oak is mighty, but rigid,
It snaps when the wind is too strong,
The Cattail bends and sways with the breeze,
A river stone is always on the bottom,
But constantly polished by the flow of the water,
Emeralds wait to be found in the rough dirt,
But one has to dig for them,
We fear crying,
But we forget that when we cry we know one thing:
We are alive.

I couldn’t resist re-posting this. It’s copied from my sister B’s blog. This is a conversation between my 2 year old nieces that my sister overheard while she was driving them to pre-school one morning. First off, I’d like to say “Wow! My nieces are scary smart.” Secondly, they are adorable and funny. Enjoy.
A: “Look, another motorcyle.”
E: “Yes. Motorcylcle guy wearing a helmet. For safety.”
A: “Yes. For safety. Don’t want to fall down and get hurt.”
E: “Right. Safety. Bike guys wear helmets too. For safety.”
A: “Yes. For safety.”
E: “Look, another motorcycle.”
A: “No E, actually it’s a Vespa.”
E: “Right a Vespa. Also wear helmets. For safety.”
A: “Look, another bus.”
E: “No A, actually it’s a streetcar.”
A: “Right. A streetcar. Daddy hops the streetcar sometimes to go to the office.”
E: “Yes, and sometimes he takes the bus.”
A: “And sometimes the boat.”
